ABCA Release
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Allegheny College outfielder
Tyson Bryant-Dawson (Oakland, Calif./Manvel (Texas)) earned yet another award for his efforts during the 2024 season by being named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Region 7 All-Defensive Team on Thursday.
Bryant-Dawson is the first Gator recognized by the ABCA with Region All-Defensive Team accolades, an award that was introduced last spring. The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA, and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America and Coach of the Year Committee.
The standout junior outfielder displayed each of his five tools this season. In addition to batting .347 with team highs in home runs (7), RBIs (47), and stolen bases (31), Bryant-Dawson played flawless defense as Allegheny's starting left fielder. Not only did he end the year with zero errors on 66 total chances, but eight of his nine assists came from throwing out base runners from the outfield.Â
A repeat All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) First-Teamer, Bryant-Dawson also earned a spot on the D3baseball.com All-Region Second Team and All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Teams this season.Â
