MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's lacrosse team celebrated their 30th Anniversary Game with a 16-5 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over Westminster Saturday (April 6).
During halftime, the Gators honored numerous alumni who were in attendance to celebrate the 30th year of Allegheny women's lacrosse.
After Westminster scored the first goal, the Gators ended the opening frame on a 4-0 run with four different goal scorers.
Ema Caragein (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton La Salle),
Ashley Amato (Westerly, R.I./Westerly),
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) and
Amelia Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) all found the back of the net.
The momentum carried over to the second quarter as the run grew to 10-0 as the Gators shut out the Titans to end the half. Petrarca completed her hat trick with a pair of goals in the quarter.
Emily Herrold (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) had two tallies in the 15 minutes while Amato also scored her second goal of the game.
Katherine Surdykowski (Chesterfield, N.Y./Northern Burlington County Regional) rounded out the goal scorers.
Herrold finished her hat trick with a goal to open the third before Westmisnter ended the Allegheny run. After the Titan goal, Caragein responded with her second strike of the game. The Titans scored the ensuing goal but a pair of goals by Surdykowski gave Allegheny their third hat trick of the game as they led 14-3 heading into the final quarter.
Each team found the back of the net in the final 15 minutes. For Allegheny, Petrarca scored her fourth while Amato became the fourth Gator with three goals.

- Sarah Thorman (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) earned the win in net making three saves.
- Macy Simons (Catonsville, Md./Western Tech) played the second half in goal, making a pair of saves.
