MEADVILLE, Pa. – Four members of the Allegheny women's basketball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for their performances on and off the court this past season.
The four Gators earning the honors were
Jess Bickart (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley),
Branygan Bianchin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny),
Emily Lauer (Knox, Pa./Keystone) and
Sarah Santicola (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area).
For Lauer, this marks her second straight year earning the honor.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, and have played in at least 90 percent or started in 66 percent of the team's competitions throughout the season.
Academic All-District winners advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, Second-, and Third-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in April.
