GROVE CITY, Pa. – Senior
Olivia Kraus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) highlighted day two of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships for the Allegheny women's swimming team by winning the 50 freestyle with a school record time.
Kraus earned the first-place medal in the event with a time of 23.64. That time is the fastest mark in school history, surpassing her previous best time of 23.65 set last season. The win also marks her second PAC Championship in the event and third title overall.
The night started with the 500 freestyle, with
Katya Pryshchenko (Berwyn, Pa./AIM Academy) and
Mary Evans (Rochester, N.Y./Arcadia) swimming in the consolation finals. Pryshchenko finished third in the heat for 11th overall with a time of 5:38.56 while Evans placed 15th overall with a mark of 5:48.76.
Anna Kohler (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) and
Josephine Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA) also raced in the consolation finals of the 50 freestyle. Kohler placed 10th with a time of 26.31 while Reiter was just behind in 11th with a time of 26.42.
The evening ended with the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Kraus, Pryshchenko, Reiter and Kohler finished third with a time of 1:41.22.
