OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Allegheny College men's tennis team came up short in both matchups on Saturday, as the Gators fell to the University of Findlay and Oberlin College.

The Oilers (2-0), who qualified for the NCAA Division II Regionals last season, defeated the Gators (2-3) by a 6-1 score. Oberlin (1-1), the host for both matches, then edged Allegheny by one, 4-3.

The only points won by the Gators came from singles victories. Against the D-II Oilers, freshman Justin Hardie (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) was the only winner, using a super tiebreak to take down Maneo Gaborin in the fifth singles match. In the nightcap against the Yeomen, Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet), Levente Mihaly (Békéscsaba, Hungary/Békéscsabai SZC Széchenyi István), and Javier Bejarano Jimenez (El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain/IES Padre Luis Coloma) picked up wins in the first, third, and fourth matches.

Hardie teamed up with Arick Baldwin (Oakwood, Ohio/Oakwood) for one doubles win against Oberlin, but the Yeomen earned the match point by taking two of the three doubles matches.
