MEADVILLE, Pa. – A late goal by Geneva proved to be the only one of the contest as the Allegheny men's soccer team fell 1-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Saturday (Oct. 5) in Meadville. 
 
Nick Magee (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) nearly gave the Gators the lead in the 24th minute on a shot to the far post, but the Geneva goalkeeper made a diving save. Adam Rumble (Poland, Ohio/Poland) also had a solid chance in the closing minutes of the frame but his attempt was also stopped as the game remained scoreless at halftime.
 
In the 78th minute, Jose Cifuentes (Guatemala City, Guatemala/The Kiski School (Pa.)) headed in a ball that went just inches over the top of the crossbar.
 
Geneva broke up the scoreless game in the 86th minute. Off a corner, the Golden Tornadoes headed the ball from the far post to the back of the net for the game's only goal.
 
In the final seconds, Renen Frank (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) almost found the equalizer but his header went just wide of the goal as the Gators fell 1-0.
