DELAWARE, Ohio – The Allegheny field hockey team battled defending North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Champion Ohio Wesleyan on the road Saturday (Oct. 5), falling to the Battling Bishops 2-0.
The Battling Bishops controlled the pace of play throughout the opening 30 minutes, putting 10 shots on goal in the time frame. However,
Rowan O'Toole (Glen Burnie, Md./Archbishop Spalding) stood her ground in net, keeping Ohio Wesleyan off the scoreboard.
Ohio Wesleyan nearly cracked the scoreboard early in the second half off a penalty corner, but a goal was disallowed due to a foul.
After O'Toole made five more saves, the Battling Bishops got on the scoreboard 10 minutes into the third quarter off a deflection.
The Battling Bishops added one more tally in the fourth quarter while holding the Gators off the board.
