Napoleon’s Hat Trick Lifts Gators Over Titans

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Brady Napoleon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) tallied his third career hat trick to lead the Gators to a 5-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory against Westminster Tuesday (Oct. 15).

The Gators nearly got on the board in the opening sequence, but the goal was called back on an offsides call. The Titans then quickly worked the ball down the field, scoring an unassisted strike from close distance to take the early lead.

Allegheny found the equalizer in the 21st minute. After gaining possession at midfield, the Gators worked the ball down the far side. Napoleon sent the ball to Cliff Weaver (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) in front of the net, who took a step around the defender and fired the ball into the back of the net, tying the game. The goal was the first of the year for Weaver.

In the 34th minute, the Gators took the lead. Napoleon found a crashing Micah Khembo (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Catholic) who headed the ball off the crossbar. Will Gruca (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) was there to follow up with a bicycle kick off the rebound, putting the Gators in front 2-1. The goal was Gruca's fourth this year.

The Gators added to their lead early in the second half. In the 54th minute, Weaver found the ball in front of the net and sent a short pass back to Napoleon. Napoleon paced a quick shot under the crossbar to extend the lead to two. That goal marked the 20th of his career.

Westminster brought the game within a goal, scoring in the 67th minute.

Napoleon struck for the second time in the 72nd minute. Jacob Kubik-Pauw (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Hanover (N.H.)) gained possession off a goal kick and sent the ball down field to Napoleon. Napoleon got through the backline and found the back of the net for his second goal of the game.

The senior completed the hat trick in the 77th minute. Once again, Kubik-Pauw set Napoleon up on a cross. Napoleon took the pass on the near post and tucked the shot inside the post as the Gators extended their lead to 5-2.

Allegheny held tough the rest of the way to secure the conference win.
