HIRAM, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's soccer team put on an offensive clinic in the second half against Hiram College on Wednesday night, as the Gators scored five unanswered goals to break a halftime stalemate en route to a 6-2 victory over the Terriers at Hiram's Charles A. Henry Field at Malmisur Stadium.
Senior striker
Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) guided the Gators (3-6-0) to the impressive non-conference win over Hiram (4-3-2) with a career-high five points. Schworm scored twice during Allegheny's second-half scoring outburst and added one assist, nearly doubling her season's point total with one incredible performance.
Avarie Schott (San Antonio, Texas/Louis D. Brandeis) netted the first goal for the Gators in the 18th minute, but the two teams entered the intermission tied at 1-1. Schworm found the back of the net in the 51st minute for the go-ahead tally, and three minutes later,
Taylor McKindley (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) deposited another goal to put the Blue and Gold ahead 3-1.
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy), Schworm, and
Casey Bender (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) added three more goals in a span of six minutes late in the second half, which put the game well out of Hiram's reach.
