SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Allegheny field hockey team wrapped up a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) weekend road trip Sunday (Sept. 24) at Wittenberg, falling to the Tigers 1-0.
The game remained scoreless through 45 minutes of action as
Meredythe Baird (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) made a pair of saves in net.
Ramsay Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) had shots in the third quarter and early in the fourth but was unable to get them to the back of the net.
The Tigers broke up the scoreless game midway through the fourth quarter. The Gators had some opportunities to tie the game late in the game, including a shot off a penalty corner by
Emily Robles (Burlington Township, Pa./Burlington Township) with seconds remaining, but were unable to score as they fell in conference action.
