Women's Tennis Rolls Waynesburg, 9-0

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's tennis team earned its second consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory on Friday, as the Gators cruised to a 9-0 win over Waynesburg University on a beautiful fall afternoon at the Robertson Athletic Complex.

Allegheny (2-1, 2-0 PAC) made light work of the visiting Yellow Jackets (1-5, 0-4 PAC). The Gators dropped only four games combined between singles and doubles action, and no doubles tandem or singles player lost more than one game in a match.

Allegheny's wins at second, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles all came by 6-0, 6-0 scores, while the No. 2 duo of Lauren Passarelli (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) and Omega Ba (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) took down Karly Starcher and Claire Lace, 8-0.

At third doubles, Abbie Bender (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) and Kayla Hay (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny) earned their first-ever collegiate wins by defeating Waynesburg's Alli Bailey and Aubrey Burns by an 8-1 score. Filling in at No. 6 singles, Athena Drollas (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) recorded her first win of the fall and her second career singles victory, as she swept Bailey in straight sets.
