VIENNA, Ohio – The Allegheny men's tennis team concluded their regular season with a dramatic 5-4 win against Wooster Saturday (April 22).
The Fighting Scots jumped out to an early lead after winning the second and third doubles matches.
The first doubles team of
Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) and
Ethan Carr (King of Prussia, Pa./Harriton) won with a score of 8-4.
The Gators picked up victories at first, second and third singles. Hedlund had the victory at first singles with a 6-3, 6-1 mark. Carr also had his second win of the day, picking up a 6-4, 6-4 victory at second singles.
Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton) collected a 6-2, 6-0 win at third singles.
Wooster won at fourth and sixth singles, bringing the match down to the result at fifth singles between
Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and Manit Misra.
Jarvie won the first set 6-4. The second set was close as well, but Jarvie prevailed 7-5 to secure the win for the Gators.
