Gators Cruise to 20-6 Win Against Saint Vincent

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's lacrosse team moved to 5-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as they defeated Saint Vincent 20-6 Saturday (April 15) in Meadville.
 
The Gators controlled the pace throughout the contest, amassing a 9-0 lead after one quarter of play. The Bearcats fought back in the second quarter, but the Gators gained a running clock at 13-3 late in the half.
 
Allegheny outpaced the Bearcats 7-3 in the second half to seal the win.
 
Grace Baginski (Lakeville, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led the Gators with seven points on four assists and three goals. She also caused a turnover.
 
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) registered six points, all of which were goals. She also had a pair of draw controls and a groundball and caused turnover.
 
Ema Caragein (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton La Salle) scored four goals while assisting on another for five points. Additionally, she collected three groundballs and three draw controls while forcing a turnover. Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) had two goals and two assists while collecting six draw controls and three groundballs while causing three turnovers.
 
Ashley Amato (Westerly, R.I./Westerly) had three goals with two groundballs and two draw controls. Emily Herrold (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) had two goals with two caused turnovers while Kennedy Kyle (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) had two assists. Elaina Ginsberg (Walworth, N.Y./Gananda) also tallied an assist.
 
Amelia Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) had a team-high four groundballs.
 
Sarah Thorman (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) picked up the win in net, making five saves in three quarters.

  • The Gators outshot the Bearcats 29-14.
  • Allegheny was successful on 17-of-20 clears and owned a 18-10 advantage on draw controls.
  • Baginski led the team with seven points on four assists and three goals.
