MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's lacrosse team breezed to a 19-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over Bethany College on Wednesday evening on the blue turf at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
The Gators (9-3, 4-0 PAC) opened the game with 14 consecutive goals, including nine in the first quarter alone, while pitching a first-half shutout. Allegheny, which controlled the contest from the opening whistle to the final buzzer, earned its fourth consecutive conference win while remaining unbeaten on its home field.
Although it was a well-balanced effort,
Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) highlighted the blowout victory with a team-leading five points (3g-2a). Her third point, a goal that gave the Gators a 12-0 lead midway through the second quarter, marked another career milestone for the senior midfielder, as Perelman became only the sixth player in program history to reach 200 career points.
In total, 10 Gators earned at least one point.
Grace Baginski (Lakeville, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) and
Ema Caragein (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton La Salle) each scored a hat trick.
Kennedy Kyle (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley),
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal),
Ashley Amato (Westerly, R.I./Westerly), and
Emily Herrold (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) all finished with two goals apiece.
