MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's tennis team moved to 5-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as they defeated Geneva 9-0 Wednesday (April 12).
The first doubles team of
Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundgymnasiet) and
Ethan Carr (King of Prussia/Harriton) as well as the second doubles team of
Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton) and
Guillaume Emiliano Loinard-Gonzalez (Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico/Universidad Jefferson Morelia) each won with 8-2 scores. The third doubles team of
Julien Voisey (Tokyo, Japan/ES International School) and
Evan Nelson (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) won 8-1.
In singles action, Hedlund and Carr each won 6-0, 6-0 at first and second singles, respectively. Shinomiya won his third singles match 6-0, 6-1 while Voisey won at fourth singles 6-1, 6-1.
At fifth singles,
David Rodriguez (St. Ann's, Trinidad and Tobago/Fatima College) won 6-2, 6-1 and
Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) won 6-1, 6-1 at sixth singles.
