GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's lacrosse team fell to undefeated and nationally-ranked Kenyon College, 19-5, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls (9-0), who were ranked 18th in the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll and 23rd in the ILWomen/IWLCA Top 25, used a seven-goal run in the first half to pull away from the Gators (7-3).
Goals from
Liz Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) and
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) had the Gators within two of the Owls at 4-2 midway through the first quarter. Kenyon then netted the next seven markers, before
Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) halted the run with back-to-back tallies near the end of the second quarter.
Down 12-4, Allegheny was held off the scoreboard in the third quarter, as the Owls closed out the win on their home turf.
