FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) and
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) led the Allegheny College women's lacrosse team to a 14-7 non-conference victory over Fredonia State on Saturday afternoon.
Although six different Gators earned a point in the victory, Perelman and Petrarca were responsible for 13 of Allegheny's (2-0) 17 total points. From her midfield position, Perelman led all players with six goals and seven points, while Petrarca scored five times with one assist at attack.
Allegheny scored five of the game's first six goals to take a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter. The margin was also four goals at halftime, 7-3. After back-to-back tallies from Perelman to begin the third, the Blue Devils (3-1) rallied with a 3-0 run, only to be held without a goal for the next 15-plus minutes as the Gators put the game well out of reach.
