ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Allegheny women's tennis team continued their spring with a 7-2 victory at Mount Union Saturday (March 25).
The Gators fell behind 2-1 after the doubles matches. The third doubles team of
Sabrina Rodriguez (Kissimmee, Fla./Professional and Technical) and
Maria Lounder (Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Area) collected an 8-1 win.
Allegheny would sweep all six singles matches to pick up the win.
Ella Swan (Nashville, Tenn./Hume-Fogg Academic) won at first singles 6-1, 7-5.
Jean-Arlette Legrand (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Commonwealth Parkville School) earned the win at second singles with a 6-3, 6-3 score.
The closest match was at third singles. Rodriguez dropped the opening set 6-3 before winning the second set by the same mark. In the deciding third set, Rodriguez prevailed with a 6-2 score to take the match.
Lounder had her second win of the day at fourth singles with a 6-3, 6-1 score.
Noelle Kidd (Broadview Heights, Ohio/North Royalton) won at fifth singles 6-1, 6-4 while
Allison Riley (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) won 6-0, 6-3 at sixth singles
