ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Allegheny men's tennis team collected a nonconference sweep on the road at Mount Union Saturday (March 25).
The Gators started the match with convincing doubles victories. The second doubles team of
Julien Voisey (Tokyo, Japan/ES International School) and
David Rodriguez (St. Ann's, Trinidad and Tobago/Fatima College) as well as the third doubles team of
Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton) and
Guillaume Emiliano Loinard-Gonzalez (Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico/Universidad Jefferson Morelia) both won with 8-1 scores.
At first doubles,
Anton Hedlund (Hova, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) and
Ethan Carr (King of Prussia, Pa./Harriton) won 8-2.
In singles action, Hedlund, Carr, Shinomiya and Rodriguez all collected their second victories.
At fifth singles,
Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) dropped his opening set, but won the second to force a tiebreaker. He won the tiebreaker 8-1 to take the match.
Nathan Kisiel (Erie, Pa./Fairview) won at sixth singles with a 6-0, 6-3 score.
