VIENNA, Ohio -- The Allegheny College men's tennis team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Friday evening by defeating Franciscan University, 9-0, at the indoor courts at Avalon Golf and Country Club's Squaw Creek location.
It's the third time this season the Gators (6-3, 1-0 PAC), who were picked as the conference favorite in the PAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, have won a dual match by a 9-0 final score.
Allegheny's top tandem of
Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) and
Ethan Carr (King of Prussia, Pa./Harriton) cruised to an 8-1 win over Travis Mistry and Aidan Palladino from Franciscan (1-9, 0-1 PAC). Hedlund and Carr then beat Mistry and Palladino in the first and second singles matches without giving up more than one point in a set.

Guillaume Emiliano Loinard-Gonzalez (Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico/Universidad Jefferson Morelia) only dropped one game while adding a singles win at the No. 3 spot in the lineup.
