Men's Tennis Continues Lengthy Win Streak vs. Penn State Behrend

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's tennis team earned its first dual victory of the fall season on Wednesday, as the Gators downed Penn State Behrend by a 9-0 score at the Robertson Athletic Complex.

Wednesday's win marks the 32nd consecutive Gator victory over the Lions, a streak that began during the 1976-77 season.

The Gators shook up the top doubles pairing, as Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) and Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) were paired together for the first time and secured an 8-4 win. On the other hand, the No. 2 duo of Evan Nelson (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) and Reid Stasolla (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) played their fifth match of the year together and produced an identical 8-4 score.

Jarvie and David Rodriguez (St. Ann's, Trinidad and Tobago/Fatima College) each earned their team-leading fifth singles wins. On the second singles court, Rodriguez lost only one game en route to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. In the third spot, Jarvie took down Owen Sinnott, 6-1, 6-1.
