BETHANY, W. Va. – The Allegheny volleyball team dropped a four-set match on the road at Bethany Thursday (Oct. 19) in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC play.
Bethany won the match 19-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.
The Gators got off to a fast start, taking a 6-1 lead in the opening set. Bethany would pull within a point at 12-11, but the Gators never let the Bison tie the game as they captured it 25-19.
The second set was close early on, with the teams deadlocked at 10. However, Bethany would put together a 6-2 run to take control, eventually winning the set 25-17.
Bethany once again held the advantage in the third set midway through. Trailing 24-20, the Gators staved off three set points before eventually falling 25-23.
The final set went back-and-forth early on. Similar to the second set, the Bison used a big run to take the lead. Once more, the Gators stopped multiple match points, but eventually fell 25-21.
Inside the Box
- Angelee Bawek (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills) led the Gators with 17 kills while also tallying 12 digs and three blocks.
- Emma Chambers (Stoutsville, Ohio/Amanda Clearcreek) had 12 kills with four total blocks, three of which were solo.
- Sydney Kirk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic) had five kills and three blocks.
- Meagan Robare (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) had 23 assists while Izzy Gray (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) had 12.
- Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) had 28 digs.

- The Gators moved to 17-8 on the season and 4-2 in PAC play.
- All-time against Bethany, the Gators are now 7-3.
