MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's swimming and diving team opened up their 2023-24 campaign at home against Franciscan Saturday (Oct. 14).
Despite winning seven of 11 races, the Gators fell 107-81.
Katya Pryshchenko (Berwyn, Pa./AIM Academy) collected a pair of victories in distance events. She won the 500 with a time of 5:52.71 and 1,000 with a time of 12:13.48.
Olivia Kraus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) also had two wins on the day. Her first victory came in the 200 individual medley, clocking in at 2:22.92. Kraus followed up that win by claiming victory in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57:09.
Josephine Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA) was the third Gator with two wins. The first was in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.72 and the second was in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.86.
Anna Kohler (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:08.90 while taking second in the 100 backstroke at 1:13.88.
Mary Evans (Rochester, N.Y./Arcadia) had a pair of runner-up finishes in freestyle events, taking second in the 200 and 500 events.
Leah Frase (Madison, Ohio/Madison) carded third place finishes in the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.
