Field Hockey Falls to Wooster, 1-0

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny field hockey team fell in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play Wednesday (Oct. 11) to Wooster, 1-0.
 
Neither side was able to find the back of the net in the opening 30 minutes. Wooster owned an advantage in shots, but Meredythe Baird (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) made a pair of saves to keep the score even.
 
The Fighting Scots broke through in the third quarter. Off a penalty quarter, Wooster redirected an attempt in front to the back of the net for the lone goal of the game.
 
The Gator defense continued to play well in the fourth quarter. Late in the fourth, the Gators had an opportunity on an attack but were unable to get a shot off as they fell 1-0.

  • Baird finished the game with four saves.
  • The Fighting Scots had 11 total shots.
  • Wooster had the only four penalty corners in the game.

  • Allegheny is now 3-2 all-time against Wooster.
