WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's soccer team fell on the road in a non-conference match against the College of Wooster by a final score of 6-0 on Sunday afternoon.
While the Gators (0-2-0) received more corner kicks (2-to-1) and committed fewer fouls (14-to-10), possession was controlled by the Fighting Scots (1-0-1), who finished with a 31-to-6 lead in total shots.
Kari May (Erie, Pa./McDowell), who played the first half between the pipes for Allegheny, was tested early on and came through with a trio of stops in the first five minutes. However, after
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) put a shot on target in the 13th minute, the Fighting Scots countered down the field and tallied their first marker in the 14th minute.
Wooster, who jumped ahead by three before the half, preserved the clean sheet right before the intermission. Goalie Kameryn Nelson made a key stop in the 44th against
Natasha Rosa (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) to keep momentum in the Scots' favor entering the break.
