FERRUM, Va. – The Allegheny field hockey team won their third straight game and recorded their second consecutive shutout as they defeated Ferrum 5-0 on the road Sunday (Sept. 4).
Becca Winton (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) struck first for the Gators, scoring just over two minutes in off an assist from
Kinsley Greenlaw (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford). Thirty-six seconds later,
Debbie Nalesnik (Milford, N.J./ Delaware Valley Regional) put the Gators up 2-0 off a pass from
Maya Francisco (Toledo, Ohio/Maumee Valley Country Day School).
In the second quarter,
Ella O'Connor (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township), assisted by
Bella Cowen (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Day School), made it 3-0. Less than two minutes after the O'Connor goal, Greenlaw scored unassisted to give the Gators a 4-0 lead at the half.
Eva Cucinell (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) scored the final goal of the game, unassisted, in the third as the Gators defense allowed just one shot on goal for the entire 60 minutes.

- Heather Amancio (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) played the second half in net to complete the shutout.
