OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Allegheny College men's soccer team suffered a 6-2 non-conference loss on the road against Oberlin College on Wednesday night at the Yeomen's Fred Shults Field.
Oberlin (4-4) scored early and often en route to the victory, Nasim Amer, who scored twice in the first 8:12, found the back of the net in the second minute to kickstart the offensive outburst. Alongside Amer's first goals, Toby Wells-Zimmerman and Jon Schafer each scored to put the Yeomen ahead, 4-0, by the 19th minute.
In the 20th minute,
Zach Ioli (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and
Cam Kaminski (Bowling Green, Ohio/Maumee Valley Country Day) connected and a beautiful long-range pass to put the Gators (2-5-1) on the board. An over-the-top pass from Ioli on the left-wing side cleared all of the Oberlin defenders. With his left foot, Kaminski was able to direct the ball past a diving goalkeeper and inside the left post.
Allegheny's second marker came off the foot of
Henry Rosenberg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Allderdice).
Cliff Weaver (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) played the ball wide to the left side and rifled a pass through the box to an unmarked Rosenberg on the other side of the field.
