MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team opened up a three-game homestand with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-15) win against Westminster in nonconference action Tuesday (Sept. 27)
The Gators controlled the momentum throughout the opening set. Recording 14 kills, they led by as much as 12, and won the set 25-15.
The momentum carried over to the second set as the Gators won the first six points off of
Meagan Robare's (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) serves. Westminster chipped away at the lead, dropping it down to one at 17-16. However, the Gators won the ensuing five points as they captured the set 25-19.
Westminster led early in the third set, but the Gators fought back to take the lead at 10-9. Allegheny maintained that lead the rest of the match.
Morgan Goodlet (Akron, Ohio/Coventry) served up aces for the final two points as the Gators won the final set 25-15.
Inside the Box
- Kendall Crum (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory) led the Gators with eight kills.
- India McCruter (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson), Mila Anderson (San Diego, Calif./Mission Bay) and Emma Chambers (Stoutsville, Ohio/Amanda Clearcreek) had seven kills apiece.
- Robare had 16 assists while Leah Ungashick (Akron, Ohio/Coventry) provided 14.
- Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) led the Gators with 20 digs while Alejandra Fernandez (Caguas, Puerto Rico/Commonwealth Parkville) had 12.
- McCruter had four total blocks while Dagney Javes (Frederick, Colo./Dawson School) had four.

- Allegheny moves to 9-8 this season and 15-15 all-time against the Titans.
- The Gators tallied 11 aces, led by three from Robare.
- This was the seventh match this season in which Diaz had 20 or more digs.
