MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's tennis team won their sixth straight match to start the season as they defeated Penn State Behrend 9-0 Monday (Sept. 26) in Meadville.
The Gators (6-0, 3-0 PAC) opened the match with a doubles sweep.
Katherine Marks (Argyle, Texas/Liberty Christian) and
Maria Lounder (Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Area) won 8-0 at second doubles while the first doubles team of
Ella Swan (Nashville, Tenn./Hume-Fogg) and
Jean-Arlette Legrand (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Commonwealth Parkville School) and the third doubles team of
Sabrina Rodriguez (Kississimmee, Fla./Professional and Technical) and
Ryan Cox (Tracy, Calif.) each won 8-1.
In singles action, Swan, Rodriguez and Cox all had clean 6-0, 6-0 sweeps. Lounder dropped just one game as she won at fifth singles 6-0, 6-1. Marks won her first singles match 6-3, 6-1 while Legrand won at third 6-0, 6-3.
