BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team defeated Geneva in straight sets (25-19, 25-15, 25-11) on the road in nonconference action Saturday (Sept. 24).
The opening set went back-and-forth. Geneva pulled ahead 22-19 late, but the Gators finished the set on a 6-0 run to take the match lead.
In the second set, tied at nine, the Gators won seven straight points to pull away.
Cheyenne Wilson (Chico, Calif./Pleasant Valley) finished the set with a kill as the Gators lead grew to 2-0.
The momentum carried over to the third set for the Gators as they led the majority of the way, and by as much as 14. The match ended with a successful block by
Dagney Javes (Frederick, Colo./Dawson School) and
Mila Anderson (San Diego, Calif./Mission Bay).

- Kendall Crum (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory) led the Gators with 11 kills.
- Wilson finished with 10 kills and digs.
- Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) led the Gators with 12 digs.
- Meagan Robare (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) led the team with 19 assists while Leah Ungashick (Akron, Ohio/Coventry) finished with 11.
- India McCruter (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) led the team with five blocks.

- With the win, the Gators are now 9-8 all-time against Geneva.
- Allegheny hit a season-high .437, their highest percentage since October 11, 2003 against Methodist.
