BETHANY, W.Va. – The Allegheny women's soccer team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play for the first time on the road at Bethany, defeating the Bison 2-1 Wednesday (Sept. 21).
Abby Waryanka (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) scored the first goal for the Gators in the 28th minute.
Natasha Rosa's (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) corner kick found Waryanka, who headed it into the top corner of the goal.
Eleven minutes later, the Gators struck again. This time,
Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) crossed it in from the far corner, connecting with the foot of
Emily Beck (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) for the goal.
Bethany scored in the 89th minute to cut the lead in half, but it was not enough to overcome the Allegheny advantage.
