GROVE CITY, Pa. – A 7-1 scoring stretch in the middle quarters helped Allegheny pull away from Grove City in the first ever meeting between the two teams, a 13-6 Gators' victory.
With the win, Allegheny women's lacrosse improves to 8-3 on the season.
Grace Baginski (Lakeville, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led all players with five goals in the match, equaling her season and career high.
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) added three goals for her third hat trick of the season.
Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) added four points, with a pair of goals and pair of assists, while
Emily Herrold (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) and
Devin Gaffney (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) each contributed three points by way of a goal and two helpers.
Perelman also recorded game highs of seven draw controls and five ground balls. In total, eight Gators recorded at least two ground balls, with
Liz Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) placing second on the squad with four.
Sarah Thorman (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) made eight saves in goal to pick up her eighth win of 2022.
With nonconference play complete for the season, Allegheny will focus on North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) action the rest of the way, including the final two home matches of the year next week, beginning by hosting Oberlin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13.
