CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Allegheny men's basketball senior
Brian Roberts, Jr. (Copley, Ohio/Copley) scored his 1,000th career point as the Gators were on the road at Wabash Saturday (Feb. 5).
The Gators fell to the Little Giants 104-89.
Thirty-two seconds into the second half, Roberts, Jr. nailed a three-pointer, which gave him his 1,000th career point. He achieved the feat in 61 career games, becoming the 30th Gator to reach the milestone.
Roberts, Jr. finished the contest with 22 points. This marked the 12th game of the season in which he scored at least 20 points and his sixth straight game at that mark.
Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio)) had a career-high 27 points, shooting 9-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-4 from three point range.
Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mt. Lebanon, Pa.)) tallied his ninth double-double of the season, going for 14 points and 13 rebounds. He also led the Gators with three assists and three blocks.
Jordan Greynolds (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) ended the game with nine points while
Andre Wilder (Beaver Falls, Pa./Lincoln Park) had five points and five rebounds. Â
As a team, the Gators shot 46.5 percent from the field and went 13-of-14 at the free-throw line.Â
Wabash grabbed the lead early in the game. The Gators utilized an 11-0 run in the second half, and brought the lead down from 27 to 11 multiple times, but were unable to overcome the deficit.
The Gators remain in Indiana to take on DePauw on Sunday, Feb. 6. Tip-off in Greencastle is slated for 3 p.m.
