MEADVILLE, Pa. – A pair of first half goals led the Allegheny women's soccer team to a 2-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory against Geneva at home Wednesday (Oct. 5).
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) got the Gators on the board in the 11th minute. MIller picked up a loose ball, striking it from the near side edge of the goal box to the top corner of the net.
The Gators struck again in the 28th minute. This time,
Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) took the ball down the near wing and crossed it to the far post.
Lilly Noel (Shepherdstown, W. Va./St. James) ran up and got her foot on the ball, pushing it into the low corner to make it 2-0.
Geneva scored a goal in the 86th minute to cut the lead to 2-1, but it was not enough to overcome the Allegheny advantage.
