GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-21) setback at Grove City in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Thursday night (Oct. 27)
 
The opening set went back-and-forth with the teams exchanging leads several times. Grove City owned a 23-22 lead late in the set and won the ensuing two points to take it 25-22.
 
The second set was even in the early portions, but midway through the Wolverines started to pull away. Grove City ended the set by scoring the final three points to win it 25-14.
 
Grove City led 10-6 in the third set but a 3-0 Gator run brought it within one point. Following a Wolverine timeout, the Gators' run grew to 6-0 as they took the lead. After a second timeout, the Gators added two more points to the run before it was broken up. The Wolverines then went on a 6-0 run to tie the set at 16 apiece. After an Allegheny timeout, Grove City regained the lead. The Gators fought off multiple match points before the Wolverines ended the match with a 25-21 set win.

• Kendall Crum (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory) led the Gators with 12 kills. 
• Dagney Javes (Frederick, Colo./Dawson School) and Sydney Kirk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic) had seven kills apiece.
• Leah Ungashick (Akron, Ohio/Coventry) led the Gators with 15 assists while Meagan Robare (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) had 14. 
• Cheyenne Wilson (Chico, Calif./Pleasant Valley) tallied 14 digs.
• Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) and Robare had 13 digs apiece.
• India McCruter (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson), Crum and Javes had a pair of blocks each.

The Gators conclude the regular season Saturday (Oct. 29) at Thiel. The PAC match is slated for a 6 pm start.
