MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College field hockey team fell in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) action at home to Ohio Wesleyan University, 3-0, Saturday (Oct. 22).
Ohio Wesleyan scored midway through the first quarter off a penalty corner, striking from the top of the formation. The score stayed that way until midway through the second quarter. The Battling Bishops scored their second goal off a tough angle shot along the goal line.Â
The Gators picked up the pressure in the third quarter, earning six penalty corners and outshooting the Battling Bishops, 7-3. However, Allegheny was unable to break through for a goal.
Early in the fourth quarter, Ohio Wesleyan increased their lead to three, scoring their second goal off a penalty corner. The Allegheny offense continued to battle but was unable to get on the scoreboard as they fell in NCAC play.
