Allegheny drops road contest at Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Allegheny women's soccer team scored an early goal, but it was not enough as they fell on the road in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play to Chatham, 2-1, Saturday (Oct. 15).
 
The Gators scored early in the game. In just the fourth minute, Lilly Noel (Shepherdstown, W. Va./St. James) scored off an assist by Autumn Wittebort (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour). On the play, Wittebort's corner kick found Noel near the far post. Noel tucked the ball just inside the post for the score.
 
The lead held up until the 24th minute when Chatham tied it at 1-1.
 
The game remained deadlocked until the 83rd minute, when Chatham struck again to take the lead, 2-1. The Gators put pressure on Chatham late, but were unable to find the equalizer.

  • Noel scored off a corner kick by Wittebort in the fourth minute.
  • Chatham scored in the 24th and 83rd minutes.
  • Chatham owned a 16-7 shot and a 9-4 corner kick advantage.
