Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Andersen scores twice in draw with Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa. –  Dave Andersen (Kingston, Wash./Kingston) scored twice for the Allegheny men's soccer team, but the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Chatham ended in a 2-2 draw Saturday (Oct. 15)

Chatham got on the board first, scoring in the 11th minute.  The Gators were quick to answer though. In the 20th minute, Andersen struck a low shot from the far end which found the back of the net, tying the match at 1-1.

The match did not stay tied for long as Chatham notched their second goal in the 32nd minute, regaining the lead 2-1.

The Gators needed just 90 seconds to tie the match once again.  After Cliff Weaver (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) hit the post on a shot, he collected his rebound and passed it to Andersen. Andersen struck it as soon as it got to him just inside the goal box, blasting it to the back of the net for his second goal.

Both teams continued to pressure on offense, but neither team was able to find the back of the net again as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
