RICHMOND, Indiana -- The Allegheny College field hockey team completed the series sweep of Earlham College on Saturday afternoon, as the Gators' offense came to life in a 6-2 road win over the Quakers at Earlham's Darrell Beane Stadium.
Five different players scored a goal for the Gators (11-2, 2-1 NCAC), who set a new program record for the most goals in a game against a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opponent. After
Kelsey Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) found the back of the cage at the 8:02 mark in the opening quarter, Allegheny never trailed for the remaining 57:58.
Earlham's Regan Seeman made it a one-goal difference, 3-2, less than a minute into the fourth quarter. However, the Gators ended the afternoon with three unanswered to put the game well out of the Quakers' reach.
Ella O'Connor (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township) and
Bella Cowen (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Day School) scored in the 48th and 51st minutes, respectively, before
Hannah Hinterleiter (Conneaut Lake, Pa./Conneaut Lake) logged her first of the season with only 19 seconds left in regulation.
