MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's soccer team fell at home to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) leading Grove City 4-1 Wednesday (Oct. 12) afternoon.
After back-and-forth play to start, Grove City broke the stalemate in the 30th minute, scoring on a cross in front of the net.
The Gators quickly answered five minutes later.
Brady Napoleon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) passed the ball forward to
Darius Googe (East Hartford, Conn./East Hartford). The Grove City goalie dove for the ball, but Googe knocked it loose and capitalized with his second goal of the season. The goal was also the first surrendered by Grove City in PAC play this year.
In the 56th minute, the Wolverines regained the lead, scoring from inside the box on the far end of the field. They added on to the lead in the 67th minute, heading in a corner kick to grow the advantage to 3-1. In the final minute, they tacked on one more to finish with a 4-1 win.
