Nalesnik Nets Two Goals in Field Hockey's Win vs. Oberlin

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Junior forward Debbie Nalesnik (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) scored twice on Saturday afternoon at the Roberson Athletic Complex Blue Turf to guide the Allegheny College field hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Oberlin College in its 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opener.

Nalesnik, who has scored at least once in each of the last three games, fueled an Allegheny (10-1, 1-0 NCAC) offense that rarely lost possession of the ball against the Yeowomen (3-5, 0-1 NCAC). The Gators finished with 27 shots and 13 penalty corners, and for the fourth consecutive meeting against Oberlin, they prevented the Yeowomen from recording a shot.

After a scoreless first quarter, Nalesnik logged her first goal with an assist by Kelsey Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) to give AC the lead for good in the 24th minute. She then doubled Allegheny's advantage in the 34th minute on a pass from Molly Miller (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg). With 6:46 remaining in the fourth quarter, Maya Francisco (Toledo, Ohio/Maumee Valley Country Day School) posted her sixth goal of the season on a redirect inside the left post.
