GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City scored a pair of goals less than two minutes apart in the second half to set the final 2-0 margin as the Allegheny women's soccer team dropped a road nonconference match against the Wolverines.
The hosts found the back of the net in the 72nd and 74th minutes. In total, Grove City held a slim, 10-6, advantage in shots. Six different Gators tallied a shot, with
Maddy Hill (Volant, Pa./Wilmington) and Olivia Earnest (Mount Lebanon, Pa./Mount Lebanon) collecting shots on goal.
In goal,
Kari May (Erie, Pa./McDowell) made three saves while playing all 90 minutes.
Allegheny is back in action at home twice next week against a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opponents, beginning with a 7 p.m. match on the Blue Turf against Mount Union on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
