GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Allegheny volleyball team continued their North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opening weekend at DePauw.
 
The Gators fell to the Tigers in four sets (25-14, 25-20, 24-26, 25-19). The loss drops the Gators to 10-4 on the season.
 
Cheyenne Wilson (Chico, Calif./Pleasant Valley) led the Gators with seven kills. 
Emma Chambers (Stoutsville, Ohio/Amanda Clearcreek) and 
Kendall Crum (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory) had six kills apiece while 
Dagney Javes (Ferederick, Colo./Dawson School) had five.  
Olivia D'Andrea (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) had 20 assists.  
Meagan Robare (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and D'Andrea had a pair of aces each.
 
Defensively, five Gators finished with double digit dig totals.  
Taylor Besch (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) led the team with 18.  
Kate Christie (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna) was second with 16.  D'Andrea, Wilson and Robare had 14, 13 and 12, respectively.  The team also had 10 total blocks, led by three each by 
India McCruter (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) and Crum.
 
Allegheny returns to Meadville Wednesday (Sept. 29) when they play host to Oberlin in NCAC action.
