MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny women's soccer team battled John Carroll late into a second overtime before the Blue Streaks found the back of the net for a 1-0 victory Saturday (Sept. 11).
 
The John Carroll goal came in the 108th minute following even play throughout the game.
 
The Gators held a narrow 20-17 edge in shots, with half of those being on target.  Ellie Hamilton (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) led the Gators with five shots.  Taylor McKindley (Rancho Santa Margarita/Santa Margarita Catholic) and Emily Orr (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) combined for five shots on net.
 
Kaitlynn Rees (Anaheim, Calif./Fullerton Union) and Gabby Culotta (Willoughby, Ohio/Andrews Osborne Academy) split time in net, combining to make five stops.  
 
The Gators will travel to Washington & Jefferson for a nonconference 7 p.m. kick-off on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
