MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Ryan Hilty (Jeannette, Pa./Penn Trafford) broke a 2-2 tie in the 76th minute off a free kick by Henry Rosenberg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Allderdice) to lead the Allegheny men's soccer team to a 3-2 nonconference win over Marietta on the Robertson grass.

With the win, the Gators improve to 2-2 for the season after defending home territory in both matches on the new playing surface.

Nicholas Taliani (Cheswick, Pa./Springdale) got the Gators on the board first in the fourth minute. William Lowthert (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) had the through pass to Taliani who snuck it past the keeper to the far low corner to give the Gators a 1-0 lead. The Pioneers answered in the 16th minute off of a set play to tie it at one.

In the 28th minute, the Gators regained the lead. Alex Riel (Bethesda, Md./Landon) scored the goal directly off his own corner kick as it bounced off the goalkeeper's hands into the top corner of the net.

The Pioneers tied the game early in the second half, scoring in the 51st minute. After some back-and-forth play, Rosenberg connected with Hilty on a free kick, with Hilty heading it into the net.

Jack Barron-Sluga (Guelph, Ont./Appleby College) picked up the win in net, making five stops.

The Gators will travel to La Roche for a 4:30 pm nonconference match on Wednesday (Sept. 15).
