GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Allegheny field hockey team traveled to Denison for a nonconference match between two North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) foes on Saturday (Sept. 11).
The Big Red picked up the win, 2-0. The loss drops the Gators to 1-2 on the year. Â
Kelsey Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) and
Ramsay Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) had shots for the Gators. In net,
Hallie Reiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) made eight saves.
After a scoreless first half, Denison got on the board late in the third quarter, scoring off a rebound. The Big Red added an additional goal early in the fourth to seal the win.
The Gators will be back on the road next weekend, making the trek to Greencastle, Ind. for a nonconference match against fellow NCAC member DePauw at noon.
