NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. --
Shane Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) found the back of the net for the Gators in the second half, but it wasn't enough as Allegheny dropped a 4-1 road decision at Westminster to kick off the 2021 campaign and return to action.
Allegheny trailed by a 3-0 count after the first 45 minutes, but Lisman was able to bury the team's first goal of the season less than three minutes into the second half. A late goal by the Titans set the final marker at 4-1.
Zach Ioli (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) led the Gators with three shots on the evening. A trio of teammates posted a pair of shots each: Lisman,
Gunnar Brettell (Steubenville, Ohio/Indian Creek) and
Cliff Weaver (Silver Springs, Md./Albert Einstein). In total, Allegheny notched 14 shots.
Jack Barron-Sluga (Guelph, Ont./Appleby College) started and played the full 90 in goal, making five saves on the evening.
Allegheny will open play on its brand new grass field on Saturday, Sept. 4 when it hosts Waynesburg at 2 p.m.
