MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny men's tennis team returned to the court to open the Spring 2021 season, dropping a 9-0 home match against Carnegie Mellon.
The Gators began play with a trio of close matches at doubles play, including a close tiebreak loss at the second position. The tandem of
Wonjoon Cho (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Collegiate School) and
Julien Voisey (Tokyo, Japan/ES International School) dropped the decision 8-7 (7-2) against the Tartans. First doubles saw
Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton) and
Mackenzie Knowlton (Toronto, Ont./Niagara Academy of Tennis) dealt an 8-5 setback.
Allegheny is set to return to the court when it opens North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play with a pair of weekend matches against Wooster on Sat.-Sun., April 10-11. The first day will take place in Ohio at 1 pm, while the second will return to Meadville, also with a 1 pm start.
