MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny wrapped up the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) portion of the 2021 season with a 13-4 defeat at the hands of Kenyon at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.
The defeat closes out the Gators' NCAC record at 2-4 on the year, while Kenyon remains undefeated at 5-0 overall and 4-0 in league contests.
Allegheny's first two goals of the game were scored by
Aidan D'Amato (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) and
Zackery Devers (Kapolei, Hawaii/Kapolei), with the other assisting each goal. In the fourth quarter,
Dillon D'Amato (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) scooped up a ground ball and went the distance before burying his first career goal.
Logan Sharp (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) added the final goal of the game for the Gators with 5:28 remaining in the game.
Devers,
Nick Gralewski (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) and
Patrick Hogan (London, Ontario/St. Andre Bessett) each led the offense with five shots apiece. Defensively,
Dillon D'Amato recorded team highs with three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Cassady Bouthet (Vernon, Conn./Rockville) matched D'Amato with four ground balls and had two caused turnovers of his own.
Eric Mirkovich (York, Pa./York Central) made 13 saves in 60 minutes in the crease against the Lords.
The Blue & Gold will host Wooster in a non-conference match at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28.
