Allegheny concludes series with Hiram

MEADVILLE, Pa. --  Allegheny dropped the final two games of its four-game North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) series at home against Hiram on Saturday.

In game one's 9-0 defeat, Hayley Behr (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) recorded a 1-for-3 day at the plate with a single to right field in the bottom of the second inning.

During the 8-5 setback in the second game, Kelly Lafferty (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River), Joplin Osgood (Coudersport, Pa./Coudersport) and Paige Ziggas (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) all notched multi-hit performances. Lafferty drove in a pair of runs, including a single to left field that scored Isabelle Wakefield, and a double to center that brought home Delaney Harrison-Peters (Silver Spring, Md./Walter Johnson).

Harrison-Peters also drove in two RBIs by virtue of a double into the gap at right center. Ziggas accounted for an RBI as well with a single to right center of her own

Behr, Wakefield and Kyleigh Cason (Virginia Beach, Va./Floyd E Kellam) also registered a hit in the nightcap.

Allegheny will wrap up the NCAC portion of the 2021 schedule this week against Kenyon, traveling to Gambier, Ohio on Wednesday, April 21, before hosting a Senior Day doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.
